Hello Good Looking: There's a new product in town and it's here to stay

There’s a new product in town and it’s here to stay. Michael Mikiala Men is a professional range of natural skincare solutions specifically formulated at addressing the African man’s skin. 


The idea was born out of their belief that there should be high quality grooming products that cater to black men skin type and do not cost an arm and a leg. Founder and CEO, Tsakani Mashaba, saw a gap in the market by realizing that “black men needed a product that delivered on its promise, did not harm their skin and is made in Africa. There is currently nothing in the local market that caters solely for the black male skin, yet in the South African Cosmetics and Toiletries Industry; young black male consumers are currently the biggest drivers of growth in the male grooming industry”.

Michael Mikiala Men has recently been selected as one of the brands to join the Endeavour 2012 Excelerator Program. The Excelerator is Endeavour South Africa’s initiative which started in 2009 and was designed to extend Endeavor’s reach to more innovative, early stage entrepreneurs. The aim of Excelerator Program is to revolutionalise the way early stage South African entrepreneurs are developed by leveraging the global skill that makes Endeavor the premier entrepreneurship support network in the world.


Not only is Michael Mikiala Men an innovative brand, it is a brand that is solutions based too. Research shows that 60%-80% of black men suffer from razor bumps. Michael Mikiala Men seem to have hit the nail on the head with this one. Bongani Dube, Chief Auditor of Eskom, tells us how he suffered from severe razor bumps for many years. “After just 1 week of using the products, my face became completely clear of bumps… At last a product engineered to enhance Black Male Grooming”.
