The Joburg Promusica Theatre announces the second Mama
Said Session at the Basement Theatre on Sunday 29 April 2012
Mama Said Sessions, a mixed masala brewed by Ntsiki
Mazwai, provide a soulful, funky and safe environment where young artists can
showcase their talent and leading artists share their knowledge.
After the successful first Mama Said Session,
which focused on music and was graced by ‘older sister’ Dorothy Masuka and ’younger
sister’ Thandiswa Mazwai, the Streetqueen‘s spotlight this month is on theatre.

The April session sees older sister Lilian
Dube and younger sister Renate Stuurman joining us; they will give guidance on
how to survive in the creative industry, will go in conversation with the
audience and maybe perform but surely inspire and motivate the upcoming
artistic generation.
Don’t get it wrong though, a Mama Said Session is not a conference! The Streetqueen also serves up an open mic session where all can strut their stuff backed by the live house band while the DJ is on duty to liven things up.
We are calling on fresh, home-grown talent,
musicians, poets, writers, visual artists, film makers, dancers, actors,
comedians and anyone who would like to be inspired on a Sunday afternoon by
what Mama Said to join us …..
