Rockville Season 2 coming to screens this February!



Mzansi Magic’s Rockville returns for a new season on Sundays from 9th February 2014 with several new faces joining the cast, for yet more compelling homegrown drama.

Among the newcomers is Clint Black (Scandal!; Generations; Backstage) who takes the role of Trevor, as well as one of SA’s sexiest men and entertainment all-rounder, Masego “Maps” Maponyane who plays TK. Also joining the cast is accomplished actress, Tango Ncetezo (iNkaba; Wild At Heart; A Place Called Home) as Peggy, veteran actor, Owen Sejake (Yizo Yizo; Ke Nake; Soul City; Zone 14; Fallen) as Cassius and model/actress Stephanie Schildknecht as Janet.

Along with Brenda Ngxoli (Gladys), Nandi Nyembe (Gogo - Dudu’s Bogatsu mother) and Lerato Haji (Tumi) they join the Ferguson power duo and Rockville regulars - Trevor Gumbi, Mbali Mlotshwa, Bonnie Mbuli, Lehasa Moloi, Thembsie Matu and Boity Thulo – to deliver edge-of-the-seat drama to Mzansi Magic Viewers.

“The high calibre of acting talent that is joining the already acclaimed cast is testament to the show’s impact within the acting community of Mzansi,” says M-Net Director: Local Interest Channels, Yolisa Phahle.

“We’re thrilled to welcome back Rockville to Mzansi Magic and are confident that Season 2 will consolidate the channels commitment to taking South African television to the next level in terms of  relevance, compelling entertainment and production values . “

Season 2 of this popular show gets underway on February 9th at 20h00, with the lives of the Mabaso and Bogatsu families on a knife-edge following the shooting of Jackson “JB” Bogatsu (Shona Ferguson) by Mavis Mabaso (Connie Ferguson) at the end of Rockville Season 1.

whilst JB fighting for his life on the surgeon’s table,  Mavis battles her own demons as she confronts the terrible reality of what she has done – shooting the man her daughter, Lindi Mabaso (Mbali Mlotshwa) loves.  While Mavis’ son, Oupa (Lehasa Moloi) moves mountains to save his mother from jail time.

Rockville Season 2 debuts on February 9th 2014 at 20h00 on Mzansi Magic (DStv Channel 161).
