We talked with Trevor Madondo – about his life-style, family, food, friends, his relationship with DJ Sbu and of course a bit about the recent charges that were brought forward by Wesbank. He was acquitted of the charges against him on the  8th April 2013!

Trevor Madondo, 27 Year Old Inspirational Speaker, Group CEO of Dondo Holdings (Pty) Ltd and board member. He also is the CEO of Flowa Media, a multimedia company that benchmarks social media marketing and web development. He also has a mentee called Gabi Mncube who he's been putting through school since she was 12 and she's now at University of Johannesburg (UJ).

“My goal is for Gabi to take over Flowa Media in a few years as she's a top and straight A student with leadership qualities.

"I have told her that I don't want her to pay me back, instead she must pay it forward and change the lives of other people in future." Said Trevor Madondo.

Who is Trevor Madondo?

Trevor Madondo is a typical boy from Sharpeville and Vosloorus, raised by the "Village". Everybody had a hand in my upbringing, from the mom next door, to the uncle who would send me to the shop to my own family. I'm just a guy who lives life based on hard work, honesty and integrity and being a role model to my peers.

Favorite Food?

I love tripe, lamb stew and skopo (sheep's head). You can't explain the taste, you just have to dig in, LOL!

Popular Chilling Place?

My house. I've had a lot of time to chill lately and I've found my house has been the perfect spot.

Favorite Color?

Blue!

What car do you drive?

I've got a Porsche Cayman PDK and a BMW 1 Series.

                                                                     What's your dream investment car?

It has to be a Rolls Royce Ghost or a Bugatti Veyron (Class meets precision)...

Do you have property? Where do u stay?

Yes sir, I also invest in property. I stay in Lonehill, Four-ways.

Favorite Gadget?

It has to be my iPhoneMac-book and my iPad. Once you go Mac, you will never go back.

What do you do on Sundays?

I normally just laze around and do the occasional walk in the Park.

Are you in a relationship?

Yes, I'm happily involved. And happily looked after as well.

Do you have kids?

Nope, not yet. But it's a work in progress...

What kind of music do you listen to?

I'm a House and Hip Hop fanatic, more commercial in the genres

About Family:

What kind of family did you grow up from?

A Very hard working family, you had to prove yourself before you could be regarded as successful. My family values are based on goodwill and leading by example.

Who's the funniest member?

My uncle, he's the coolest dude, very carefree and always knows what to say 2 everyone.

What did you learn from family?

That you have to work hard and leave a legacy for future generations.

Do you own pets?

Nope, I'm not a fan. Ever since my favorite dog "Bobby" was poisoned when I was 3.

FRIENDS:

Do you have a criteria to choose friends?

Nope, my friends are those who have been with me since childhood. Plus I'm not one for too many friends. I always think less friends in life helps you avoid more problems.

Whose your best friend?

His name is Lunga Mkhwanazi (@htonic). He's been my boy since we were 12.

What qualities do you look out for in friends?

Honesty and someone who I can learn from.

Who is the funniest of your friends?

Dumisane Mashinini and Percival Vilakazi.

EDUCATION:

Where did you study?

I went to Nigel High School then got a scholarship to the UK (Kingswood) then I came back in 2006 to the ASE.

How important is education to you?

Very important. Without education you cannot make decisive choices on running a business, owning a hot ride or even being your own boss. Also, counting money.

What's your take on Talent and Education?

Talent can only take you up to a certain point, education can take you further in life. If you lose your talent's capabilities, education can open more doors for you.

How did the Wesbank fraud accusations come about?

Wesbank made assumptions that I was part of the whole scandal because of my association with one of the accused, my former business partner Lerato Mahloane who is the owner of MGT Motors. We were partners in another business which had nothing to do with motor vehicles, as proven by the justice system, charges against me were dropped on the 8th April 2013. Wesbank tainted my name in the media and I wouldn't wish for this to happen to any of my peers because its not a great feeling, it sets you back financially. The case against Lerato, Mlondi and George is still happening so I'd rather not speak much about it.

It was reported you are no longer working with DJ Sbu?

Yes, I am no longer working with Sbu, and no there is no beef whatsoever. I decided to leave entertainment at the end of 2012 and Sbu supported my decision. He knows how important growth has always been for me, and when I got into property and inspirational events, he supported me. I was never cut out to be in entertainment forever, I've always had bigger dreams.

Tell us more about your businesses?

I've taken a leap into Inspirational events where I bring top entrepreneurs to South Africa to inspire SA entrepreneurs. My upcoming event, scheduled for later this year will see the Top 10 entrepreneurs ascend on our shores. (Event was scheduled for May but has been postponed due to the Wesbank debacle that has been going on in the media.) I am the Group CEO and also sit on the board of Dondo Holdings (Pty) Ltd, an investment company with various investments in New Media. I've just been approached by an International Talent Agency called Everis Agency to help them source talent in South Africa for TV, Radio, Voice Overs, Theatre in South Africa and Africa. I'm very excited about that project because it will give lots of my fellow peers opportunities in TV and Media in SA.
