Maftown Heights Vol. 3 Edition has Arrived

The third installment of Maftown Heights has arrived and will be taking place at the Bassline, Newtown, Johannesburg on Friday 30 November 2012.

Over the past three years Maftown Heights has been making a strong mark in the hip hop scene and has now solidified itself as the ultimate, must attend, an annual hip hop event that celebrates the loudly and proudly South African born hip hop sub-genre known as Motswako and the town of its origin, Mafikeng!

This hip hop festival not only aims to show its guest a good time, but it is a festival that aims to continue making a mark in the South African landscape with regards to culture preservation and celebration.

Maftown Heights aims to celebrate how Motswako, a vernacular (i.e. Tswana) hip hop art form, continues to break barriers nationally, across the continent and now across the globe to become one of the most exciting evolutions of the hip hop global journey!

Maftown Heights is the brainchild of Khuli Chana and Dreamteam SA with Miller coming on board as the main sponsor alongside YFM and Channel O as the radio and tv media partners respectively.

Tickets for this must attend event are available via Computicket and at Shoprite.

The 2012 Maftown Heights line up is one for the books featuring an exciting blend of the legendary and upcoming proponents of Motswako (i.e. the Maftown crew): Khuli Chana, HHP, Tuks, JR, Morafe, Cassper, Zeus, Notshi, Hash I & KT, and Lection, alongside friends of Maftown such as AKA, Reason, Kabelo, Teargas, Jozi, Flex Boogie, and L-Tido.

Merchandise (including limited edition t-shirts and caps, as well as artist cd's) will be on sale at Maftown Heights 2012. Guests to the event will also form part of history in the making as both the Maftown Heights documentary and shooting of the "Hape le Hape Pt 1" video of Khuli Chana ft AKA, Zeus, Reason, Towdee Mac and KayGizm will take place.

Tickets are available for purchase on Computicket and Shoprite for R150 and will sell for R200 at the door on the night:
