Champions League final… Alive! If, maybe, but, he should, he shouldn't, eish, “but they are only humans”- these were words from almost every
football loving person in Spain, following UEFA Champions League semi-final
exits of their two households clubs- Barcelona and Real Madrid in front of
their home faithful, thanks to the less fancied Chelsea and Bayern Munich. By coming
back alive from Camp Nou and Santiago Bernabeu- they have booked themselves a
spot in the final on May 19 at Munich Allianz Arena respectively.
Chelsea found themselves two goals down after about 43 minutes
and a man down- following the sending off of their captain John Terry. It all seemed
mission impossible for Chelsea to come back, but their never die attitude and
belief... They did. Two goals from Brazilian Ramires and the Spaniard Fernando
Torres- combined with Lionel Messi’s penalty miss, took them home-alive. One
will say it was a sweet revenge for Chelsea after that dramatically semi-final
clash at Bridge where Iniesta broke the Blues faithful hearts in stoppage time.
The
History was with Bayern, as they have outclassed Real three times in four meetings
in UEFA Champions League semi-finals, but still Jose Mourinho’s men were
favourites to go through- The Germanys have belief that they can do. After
Cristiano Ronaldo put Real two goals up in quick successions-It looked done and
dusted for Bayern- But former Real winger-Arjen Robben got a crucial goal-that
forces the match to end 3 all and penalties was the only solutions, which the
Germanys’ have guts and they triumphed 3-1- in doing so, they made make history
by being the first ever team to play the UEFA final on their home venue- Munich
Allianz Arena.
Messi and Ronaldo are also humans not magicians as many
thoughts, its just pure talent- when they were needed the most they couldn’t
hold their nerves and send their teams through. Messi missed a spot kick that
should have given Barca a 3-1 and Ronaldo fail to convert his spot kick too.
They are also, just like us-humans! But this won’t take away their amazing
talent they have displayed for all football lovers-between them they have
scored over 100 goals this season alone, take that before you criticise them-if
it not your night- it not.
Chelsea and Bayern have now a realistic chance of winning a
double this season- as they still have to contest FA Cup and German Cup Final against
Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund respectively. Bayern the four time European
Champions will be hoping to add their fifth star while Chelsea are still
searching their maiden star in Europe. Chelsea will take on Liverpool on May 5
at Wembley in London in FA Cup Final- and Munich will clash Dortmund on May 12
in Germany cup Final- before the big one on May 19-which Chelsea will have to
do without their captain-John Terry, Ramires, Meireles and Ivanovic- who are
all suspended.
So we have seen it all in this year’s addition of Champions
League-but you can rest assured, There still more drama to come- who will be
crown 2012 Europe’s best? Time will tell, but at least we know now, If it not
Chelsea then it will be home boys Bayern- it promises to an Intriguing clash on
May 19, don’t miss that night- it will be an incredible fascinating football
game… Allow me to lead you to that final with more stats, record, history and
coverage of the Champions League final only on G- stay in
