Josta Dladla believes in greatness of the Almighty God

Kaizer Chiefs right winger Josta “JD” Dladla has lured the attention of many defenders in the Absa premiership league. His performance and his eye for the goal post lately are impressive. Dladla has scored three goals since the beginning of this season. His latest goal was scored on Wednesday evening when Amakhosi played against Bidvest Wits.  Chiefs won the match with 2-1. He also scored a brace against Moroka Swallows. Before joining Amakhosi in 2009 he was playing for Mamelodi Sundowns. Downs released him to chiefs in exchange of Thuso Phala who is currently playing for Platinum stars.

A lot is expected from this attacking midfielder. His performance was impressive even during the season of 2010\11, though he did not register himself on the score sheet. Chiefs coach Vladimir Vermezovic has put it clear that his intention is to win the league and finish the league draught that has been going on since the season of 2004\05. JD’s performance can turn VV’s dream into reality. He has praised the good run of Dladla and the newly signed striker Lehlohonolo Majoro. He believes with the joint effort his team can emerge victorious.

Last week on this column we asked whether Benni McCarthy was ready to deliver.  The same question goes to JD. Will he sustain this performance, will he wear his lucky boots when Amakhosi takes on Ajax Cape town on the 2nd leg of MTN 8 this Saturday afternoon. It’s unquestionable that the loyal family members of Amakhosi want to see this silver wear at Naturena this season. It will all depend on the players. Their recent performance has showed that they are hungry. It’s going to be an interesting season to watch the glamour boys. So far they managed to persuade the ball to kiss the net more eight (8) times. This shows the hunger and commitment of the Motaung boys in this 2011/2012, well Amakhosi have started with a very positive attitude maintaining a winning record since the beginning of the season.

One may ask though, did they really face the strong opponents? What will happen when they do? So far they have played against Jomo cosmos which got a promotion from National first division, Moroka Swallows which struggled last season and the Bidvest Wits boys who finished in the top eight (8). The game against Ajax will give a clear picture of Amakhosi team that we can expect this season. Above all we must not forget it’s still the beginning of season. Some says” it’s not about how you start but how you finish” well let’s allow the players on the ground to show us what they can do.  The question stands will Josta Dladla shine till the end of the season? Let’s wait and see...
