FELICIA MABUZA-SUTTLE TO BE HONOURED AS A MEDIA LEGEND

Felicia Mabuza-Suttle rose to prominence as the first widely successful talk show host, in the democratic South Africa – the “Rainbow Nation”. She is also considered to have single-handedly launched the motivational speaker as a fixture in South Africa culture, through her TV show. She was voted as the 70th greatest South African of all time in an informal public poll in the TV show Great South Africans.

The entrepreneur and business woman returns to South Africa to be honoured at the “Gauteng High Impact Leadership Summit 2018 (in honour of Felicia Mabuza-Suttle)”. The same event last year honoured entrepreneur extraordinaire, Dr Richard Maponya, in a similar fashion. A grandiose oil painting of Felicia will also be grandly unveiled at this auspicious occasion – accompanied by much pomp, ceremony and fanfare. The unveiling of the painting will follow a live interview, aptly dubbed “One on One with Felicia”, conducted by Mr Thebe Ikalafeng (Chair: Brand Leadership Group).

This summit, focused on entrepreneurship in South Africa, Africa and beyond – will include sessions conducted by noteworthy young, seasoned and women entrepreneurs. These entrepreneurs will tackle topics such as “Building The Next Generation of Global Players”, “How Does South African Business Contribute to the African Economic Landscape?” and “Navigating The Complexities Faced By Women Entrepreneurs”.
The programme of the day will include engagement with dynamic speakers such as Hon Lindiwe Zulu (Minister: Small Business Development), Prof Thuli Madonsela (Public Protector, RSA: 2009 – 2016), Tbo Touch (CEO: TouchCentral FM, Molefe Group), Mr Sibusiso “DJ Sbu” Leope (Mofaya Beverages), Ms Ipeleng Mkhari (Founder: Motseng Investment Holdings), Mr Bonang Mohale (CE: Business Leadership South Africa) ),ProfessorTshilidzi Marwala(Vice-Chancellor of the University of Johannesburg)and Mr Abner Mariri (Speaker, Author & Entrepreneur).

This prestigious event will take place at Soweto Theatre on Thursday 27 September 2018. It will be limited to 450 delegates who will spend a full day, from 08:00 to 19:00, engaging with the cream of the crop of SA leadership and entrepreneurs.

“This is certainly not another ‘talk-shop’ summit, but an overdue honour of a true legend. Felicia Mabuza-Suttle is a trail blazer, a mover, a shaker and a true pioneer that got South Africa talking at a key point in our transition to the democratic order. All our contributors are hand-picked to highlight key learning points from this legendary story, which is Felicia Mabuza-Suttle”, says Mr Simphiwe Masiza (MD: Empowaworx Events & Communications). Empowaworx, the host of the event, is a premier communications firm that has been a specialist in premium leadership & entrepreneurship events nationwide for over 17 years.

The whole event will be captured on video for broadcast and much needed archiving of our national conversational history. This honour seems set to be a much needed addition to our heritage, also in light of September being our national heritage month.
