AfriDocs on BET continues to present some of Africa’s most riveting and relevant stories every Sunday at 10pm.
September sees an array of stories including the new film, Unseen Enemy that
looks at how recent epidemics have brought out both the best and the
worst in human behavior. This powerful film looks at how the
inter-connectedness of people can lead to a host of unpredictable
outcomes.
The film was written and directed by Janet Tobias,
who embedded with some of the world’s top pathogen hunters and medical
professionals for more than three years, tracking outbreaks of Zika,
Ebola and influenza worldwide.
The Ethiopian film Omo Child looks
at the challenge of one man, Lale Labuko, who takes on his own
community and their ancient tradition that sees certain children killed
based on superstition and fear. The film has won numerous awards from
festivals around the world.
Rwanda’s Finding Hillywood looks at the power of cinema to heal, create dialogue and encourage cultural discussion, whilst South African film Noma takes a harsh look at what it really means to have no home.

where you can stream over 40 documentary films anytime, including the
