Tshwane Haven for Children celebrated Mandela Day with a special surprise from local cops whom in turn felt blessed by the kids on Tuesday.
Nelson Mandela International Day is an annual international day in honour of South Africa's late statesman, Nelson Rholihlahla Mandela, celebrated on July 18, Mandela's birthday.
The police officers from Brooklyn station in Pretoria visited Tshwane Haven which is a home of mistreated children, ill and forsaken children and babies.
The intention of the officers was to deliver gifts in honour of International Mandela Day, and spend their 67 minutes with these special kids.
However, it was the officers who said that they felt that the children had gifted them with love and warmth instead which makes them to feel blessed by granting the poor children gifts.
Amongst these warm children, there’s a Five-year-old girl named Felicity whom is crippled, with her big beautiful-piercing eyes and warm smile greets everyone at the door as they enter.
Felicity was born without arms and legs which is very abnormal and painful. Her mother unfortunately couldn’t withstand to look after her daughter because of the disorder.
These children are taken care of by Karen Bruyere thehouse mother of Tshwane Haven, she started the haven ten years ago.
Bruyere is the house mother of heaven said that "Felicity is turning six in August, she is a very independent, very stubborn and normal child who feeds herself [and] gets into her bed by herself. There is nothing she can’t do."
Is it said that “it is in your hands to create a better world for all who live in it”. Happy Mandela’s day!
