SINGER: Naima Mclean Takes Over Glasgow!


The First Lady of Urban Soul, Naima McLean who recently released the video to her second single "RIDE REMIX" featuring Reason, which has been played on high rotation on South African radio stations, will be performing in Glasgow at the Ekhaya Village during the Commonwealth Games.


The Commonwealth Games is an international, multi-sport event involving athletes from the Commonwealth of Nations. The event takes place every four years and is recognised as the third largest multi-sport event in the world, after the Olympic Games and the Asian Games.




Ekhaya Village has become synonymous with the Olympic team it has become a tradition when major sporting events take place outside the country's borders, apart from being a homely environment for fans, provides foreign visitors with a taste of what South African culture and hospitality is all about. Traditional South African food is served, a wide spectrum of music and services are made available to both residents of the republic and society at large. South Africans travelling to support the Olympic team in Scotland will have a place they can call "home".



Naima is no stranger to performing live for an international audience. Her talents have seen her performing in countries such as Rwanda, Nigeria, France and Oslo, Norway among others. Naima continues to grow her international fan base, while she continues working on her debut album (still untitled) which is due for release later this year



"It's an honour to be performing alongside such renowned artists. All of whom I have been a fan of for years. I feel nervous, blessed and extremely excited about taking my music to new audiences and while sharing the stage with some of South Africa's greatest.... It's true when they say hard work pays off.." Says Naima



Naima, and her two piece band will be travelling from Johannesburg, South Africa to Glasgow, Scotland to perform alongside other SA artists, with the likes of the great Hugh Masekela, Mahotella Queens, Mi Casa, Freshlyground and The Soil on the Monday, 28 July & Tuesday,29 July 2014.
