Multi talented singer, Brenda Mtambo, is set to perform live at the Lion of Africa Music Expressions concert, taking place at Joburg Theatre in Braamfontein on Friday, 21 March 2014.
Mtambo is no stranger to the music industry. Her musical career began with the initiation of a music project called ‘Sisters of Joy’. She later joined multi award winning gospel group ‘Joyous Celebration’, where she developed her craft and marked her presence as one of South Africa’s most talented singers, songwriters and performers.
Mtambo has worked with some of South Africa’s greatest musicians namely Lira, Sbongile Khumalo, Judith Sephuma and Brian Thusi, amongst others.
She believes in the power of music to move, inspire and entertain. Mtambo will set the stage alight and mesmerise music lovers with soulful sounds from her debut solo album ‘Inspired’ which features songs such as ‘But It’s All Over Now’ and ‘Iphupho Lami’.
The Lion of Africa music expressions series brings a diverse group of musicians and entertainers to the stage providing a fun evening with good music for audiences.
The music concerts take place once a month on Friday evenings over a period of nine months and will be staged at various theatres across Gauteng, with plans to reach other provinces in the future.
