SuperSport United have acquired the services of Bafana Bafana
international striker Dino Ndlovu on loan until the end of the season from
Israeli side, Maccabi Haifa. SuperSport United FC has an option to convert the
loan into a permanent move at the end of the season.
Ndlovu has an impressive goal scoring record, having scored 9 goals
in 19 games for the Israeli club during last season, and the striker will add
to Matsatsantsa’s strike-force as they head into the second half of the season.
United coach, Cavin Johnson knew Ndlovu from his time at Platinum
Stars, and has been impressed with the striker’s ability in front of goal
especially his prolific form last season in the Israeli league.
Johnson: said: “We wanted to try and add different options to our
attacking threat and Dino will certainly do that.
“He’s someone who if you get him in the right areas will make the most
of opportunities that come his way because he’s a natural goal-scorer.
“There were several clubs both here and abroad who were interested
in taking him on loan and we’re delighted that he has chosen to join us.”
The new signing says he is eager to play as much as possible after
joining on loan from Maccabi. The striker, who has represented South Africa U20
and U23 team, will take part in his first training session on Thursday.
Speaking at the club’s offices he said: “I am really happy with the
move. I’ve been trying to get out on loan for a while from Israel and my agent
was speaking to various teams, but SuperSport showed the highest commitment to
bring me home.
“I’m very happy to be here. At my age I played a few games last year
and some this year but never really consistently in the team so we had a talk
and agreed I had to get out and play regular Football so hopefully I can do
that here.”
