411: Eastern Cape continues to unearth talent!

Andile Mpohlo is a 31 year old young fellow born in Mdantsane township, East London. Having joined the music industry, he created a stage name in which his fans and the stakeholders of the music fraternity can recognise him with, Andile Ses’khona. The meaning of such is that, ‘if Andile makes it to the national and international platforms, then therefore the Eastern Cape youth is there to stay’.

The musician has always had an interest in the genre Afro-pop/soul which led to the realisation of his dream to sing and write songs of this genre.

A number of prominent musicians and people in the entertainment industry have shown an appreciation of his music since he took to the stage in 2005. To mention just one, the Jaziel Brothers when interviewed on the SABCs’ Tru FM radio station, after winning an award at the 2010 SAMAs, they invited him to make an opening performance at their celebration party.

He has produced a debut album titled Elam Ithongo, with 11 tracks that he has written and composed himself. Three songs from the album have been getting airplay from Umhlobo Wenene FM, Tru FM, Mdantsane FM, Ekhephini FM, Khanya FM and Lukhanji FM.

The muso has been performing at corporate functions and social gatherings getting a positive feedback from his fans, acknowledging his talent and great potential to become one the South Africa's best artists.

He has worked with a number of people within the industry, writing songs, directing music videos and performing with some artists.
