Charlie thought his diary was going to be a secret!

Charlie Mpogeng, better known as Charlie, hails from Dobsonville ext 2 in Soweto. Schooling at Horizon View Primary School in his junior years, followed by Florida Park High School where he matriculated. When heading for college, at tertiary level it became a challenge for Charlie to complete his course as both his parents were not working at that time, therefore they could not afford tuition fees at Boston Media house in Johannesburg.

Charlie is on of the artists that prides themselves with their craft and he's a force to be reckoned with, having shared the stage with the likes of Khuli Chana (MTN SAMA Album of the year winner), Pro, and Mi Casa.

The young Muso told GoXtra News that he wanted to keep his music in his diary, fortunately his manager saw the talent and gave him thumbs up. "I just documented my feelings down and that was about it." said Charlie.


Charlie says his music will give the legends a run for their money - which promises a great delivery of craft and talent.

AKA, Khuli Chana and HHP that's his music fused together as he says he does not focus on one type of genre.


Charlie then took to the stage with his beat boxing talent and surprised many people who witnessed his art quickly. He became popular with the locals, performing at countless MAJOR HIP-HOP SESSIONS such as 1808, GRAVESIDE,SLAGHUIS ,SPLASH JAM and BLACK SUNDAYS to name a few, making his mark by the popular “2 ON 2 Battles “ which is the toughest category to compete in, since Charlie has never been defeated, he then went further on by winning THE BEAT BOXING COMPETITION named WORD ON THE STREET of which was hosted by Hip Hop veteran PROVERB.


The 24 year old muso refuses to let the hardships of the Mzansi music industry bring him down, where others have failed he will succeed, and not just succeed but he's going to do it big. The South African music industry has been waiting for Charlie Mpogeng and here he is, anything is possible through discipline and a passion for what you do he says.

Charlie's single U Can't Stop Me is currently play-listed on local radio station and he's doing gig to promote he's up and coming sizzling album titled, No Turning Back...
