Mama Said Sessions hosted by ntsiki ‘streetqueen’ mazwai

Ding dong, sister kanjani it’s raining men at the February Mama Said Session! The fabulous streetqueen has decided to celebrate the month of love by dishing up two delectable male singers for Sunday lunch!
Our February-bhuti once upon a time took a train from his native Port Elizabeth to Jozi and has never looked back since: Afro-soul crooner MXO, praised for his innovative, stylish and sexy approach to music and a true believer in giving back to the community, is joining us.

The innovative and brilliant February Malume is none other than singer, producer and multi-instrumentalist Joe Nina, who effortlessly straddles music genres, he started out in jazz and pioneered Kwaito before electrifying the country with his soulful Afro-pop musician.

Both will share their experiences, give guidance on how to survive in the creative industry, will go in conversation with the audience and maybe perform but surely inspire and motivate the upcoming artistic generation.
Another ingredient of the Streetqueen’s special brew is the open mic session where all can strut their stuff backed by the live house band while the DJ is on duty to liven things up.

We are calling for fresh, homegrown talent, musicians, poets, writers, visual artists, film makers, dancers, actors, comedians and anyone who would like to be inspired on a Sunday afternoon by what Mama Said to join us …..

The Mama Said Sessions are a mixed masala brewed by Ntsiki Mazwai; they provide a soulful, funky and a safe environment where young artists can showcase their talent and leading artists share their knowledge. Mama Said has hosted the likes of Dorothy Masuka, Thandiswa Mazwai, Kabomo, Lilian Dube, Ringo Madlingozi, Nomsa Manaka, JahSeed, Sibongile Khumalo, Pops Mohammed, Wanda Baloyi, Ntando, Letta Mbulu, Brickz, Gloria Bosman, Nothende, Abigail Kubheka, Moshidi Motshega and Sello Maake ka Ncube in the previous editions. If you have missed them, make sure to diarise every last Sunday of the month and you’ll soon be a Mama-aficionado.
