Nelson Mandela Bay formerly known as Port Elizabeth is
gearing up for an evening of spoken words, music and fun with the P.E’s who’s
who, dubbed HER WORDS. February 27, 6pm
at Athenaeum’s Little Theater. This is an initiative by Lelethu PoeticSoul
Mahambehlala. HER WORDS is all about arts creativity in the metro and it will
showcase different art forms, in last Thursday of every second month throughout
the year.
“The 45 minutes performance driven by a particular theme
will be followed by 20 minutes of the audience in attendance engaging in a
networking session over light snacks. Thereafter another 20minutes will be dedicated
to a ‘talk’ session led by me, where the audience will bounce off their
thoughts on the theme presented by the performing artist.
In this manner, the 90 minutes I believe this
will elevate the status of art in the community, unifying women and the
audience, and discussing topics that women may find to be difficult to tackle
in their own private spaces.” Lelethu in HER WORDS.
HER WORDS simple will give awareness on women issues; this
is the practical way of eradicating Women and children abuse in the community.
Recent Boyseens rape case has left many at glance. HER WORDS promises to bring transformation
and entertain the public. The show is a good time experience, a place where
people can connect and enjoy a stylistically unique entertainment.
Many in the film industry will know Vatiswa Ndara, this time
she ignite the athenaeum with HER WORDS. “I am looking forward to the windy
city and sharing my art with the P.E audience” confirms Vatiswa.
