411: Five things with Phil Mphela

Born in Brits and raised in Moruleng, North West province of South Africa, Phil Mphela is a force to be reckoned with. Not only is he opinionated, he has proven to be smart and articulate in a manner with which he has been able to attract thousands of Internet users around the country and the world with his witty thought provoking articles on celebrity culture and life as a young South African.

Three things that people don't know about you?

I am too open about my life. That's a tough one. I love country music, I collect classic movies dvds and I'm more reserved than people think.

Your most important highlight(s) of the year?

Working with Bonang on Lights Camera Fashion. That was a huge morale booster for my career and future in this industry.

What was your turning point this year?

When my relationship with someone I had thought I had a future with ended very badly. That tested my strength and has forever altered the way I view the world, people and relationships...

Your Motto in life?

Im a big dreamer so for me it's always dream and dream big but don't just wait for the universe to make those dreams a reality. When you dream you have a responsibility to work hard at making those dreams attainable.

Finally, your message of the year?

Life isn't about finding yourself but creating yourself. If you had a bad 2012 like I did or just looking to start something new in the new year, GO FOR IT. Let's make 2013 about creating our own opportunities. Create your on work if you unemployed, make the first move if you like someone, take the first step in initiating possibilities for yourself. That's what I am all about in the new year.

All the best and my heartfelt thanks to everybody who supports what I do. They keep me dreaming and soldiering on to achieve my dreams.
