@WSuiteZA Celebrates Youth Month with an interactive and insightful dialogue

JOHANNESBURG:  Still on Youth Month, W-Suite brought together prominent youth figures in the South African landscape, with an aim to significantly evolve and create a strong youth and female economy through insightful dialogue.

The W-Suite Youth Month dialogue, held at Ferguson’s 5th Floor, Johannesburg on 12 June 2019 provided a unique platform for stimulating and motivating conversation between aspiring and established entrepreneurs in various sectors as well as social and digital influencers.

Under the motto “Empowering Women to Take a Seat at the Table”, the W-Suite or “We” Suite aims to enhance this platform for advocacy and action through initiating conversations that allow for unprecedented possibilities. Katie Mohamed, Founder of the W-Suite initiative asserted that “if we do not get a seat at the table, then we need to pull up a chair for ourselves”.

Top-tier contributors such as MTV Base presenter, Kim-Jayde Robinson, Founder of Africa Your Time is Now, Papama Mtwisha and Wellness influencer, Juanita Khumalo were in attendance at the Youth Month dialogue which was facilitated by Khalil Patel from the International Youth Foundation and Belinda Ndaba from the influencer marketing agency known as Hello Conversations. The dialogue was centred around the youth and the challenges faced, such as, access to education and information, how do we get the youth to learn practical skills, how do we measure corporate funding in youth initiatives, how do we get policy makers to spend more time focusing on the youth and how do we find solutions that are more human centred.

In celebration of National Women’s Month, the W-Suite Summit, set for Wednesday 7 August 2019, comes at a crucial point in time where women are collectively in support of connecting and empowering each other in defining their leadership purposes and successes.
