The Annual Mpumalanga Comes Alive Festival 2014!

September marks the time of the year where Nelspruit plays homage to the province’ biggest event, the Annual Mpumalanga Comes Alive Festival. This year, the event not only brings you good music and entertainment, but also a lot of changes as it attracts all ethnicities from across the country, young and old to the festival. The biggest change to the festival is the fact that the name “Mpumalanga Comes Alive” will stand on its own without the support of the 60s brand.

According to co-founder of the brand Mr Sam Sekgota, they had to drop 60s Nelspruit and run with Mpumalanga Comes Alive to align the brand more to the province. “For the past years, we always brought this event as Nelspruit 60s, Mpumalanga Comes Alive. We thought it was high time that the brand stood on its on as we have ambitions to grow it to greater heights as a product of Mpumalanga”. Mr Sekgota said.

The Festival seeks to promote tourism and celebrate the rich cultural diversity in the province and for the past 5 years, Nelspruit has seen a great volume of people come from across all corners of South Africa and neighbouring countries to indulge in the festivities. In line with the 20 years of democracy, some of the weekend celebrations, for the first time in 2014, will be free of charge to the masses.

“It’s sure going to be an unforgettable Mpumalanga weekend and we urge all South Africans to set aside that September weekend and book their tickets, flights and accommodation as this is going to be a memorable festival of excellent music” says Sam Sekgota.
The Mpumalanga Province will come alive from 12 - 14 September 2014 when the celebrations will bring-party goers and tourists to locations such as Nutting house lodge and one of the 2010 official stadiums, Mbombela.

The weekend will kick off with pre parties at the famous Capello & Cuppucianos on the Friday, 12th September simultaneously. On Saturday 13th September will be the Main Mpumalanga comes alive Concert at Mbombela Stadium featuring some of Mzansi hottest acts and on Sunday, 14th September the weekend wraps up at Nutting Houselodge with sultry and soulful sounds at the popular Sunday Soul Session. This year’s Sunday  Soul session will be rather emotional as the good guys, Paul Mtirara and Wilson B Nkosi will be without Eddie Zondi, following his passing not so long ago.
