BLACK COFFEE STEPS DOWN AS A MISS SOUTH AFRICA JUDGE!

January 30, 2014: Miss South Africa judge Black Coffee has recused himself as a judge from the 2014 adjudication panel with immediate effect.

Speaking from abroad Black Coffee said: “I have recused myself from the judging process for Miss South Africa 2014 because it has emerged, to my surprise, that I am actually related by marriage to Top 33 semifinalist Tidimalo Sehlako. 


Miss Sehlako is the half-sister of my wife Mbali Mlotshwa and, although she and her half-sister have only ever met twice in person, I had never met her, and notwithstanding that we have no relations of any kind with her, I do not wish any perception arising to distract from the pageant.”

100 000 people sign petition to deport Justin Bieber from US!

Bang Showbiz has reported that Pop star Justin Bieber could be deported back to Canada after over 100 000 people signed a petition to have him removed from the US!

The 19-year-old singer - who is from Ontario - may be asked to leave the country and have his green card revoked by the White House after an official We The People campaign against him received more than 100 000 signatures in just six days.
The government promises to review and respond to a petition once it receives more than 100 000 signatures in 30 days.

With the start of Big Brother Mzansi just 52 days away and with the show’s launch marking the third time, after an eleven year hiatus, that a 100% South African version of the hit reality TV franchise is being created, the excitement around the highly anticipated new season is gathering momentum!

Khuli Chana nominated for Best International Act with the Black Canadian Awards 2014!

Johannesburg – Multiple award winning artist, Khuli Chana, has received a Best International Act nomination with the upcoming Black Canadian Awards taking place on 1 March 2014 at the prestigious Queen Elizabeth Theater in Toronto.

Universal Music boss urges Justin Bieber to get help!

Bang Showbiz reported that Universal chief Lucien Grainge admits he is "concerned" for the 19-year-old singer - who was arrested last week for driving under the influence (DUI), driving with an expired license and resisting arrest - amid reports of his drug use and is urging him to take a break and get help for his problems.
Speaking at the official Universal Music Group Grammys after-show party at the Ace Hotel in Los Angeles, he told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "I'm very concerned about him. I've been concerned about him for many months.

Soccer star Andile Jali leaves Orlando Pirates!

Orlando Pirates' midfield powerhouse, Andile Jali has left the club to join Belgian Pro League side KV Oostende FC.

He travelled to Belgium at the weekend for his medical and the news was confirmed on the Prosport International website that Jali had sealed the deal and will wear his favourite number 15 jersey. 

Prosport International CEO Mike Makaab tweeted: "We thank all of you for your amazing good wishes for AJ15. It is not me, but all of us at Prosport International - thank you for the support...and thanks to Orlando Pirates Chairman, Dr Khoza, for staying true to his word - on releasing Jali if the deal was fair to both parties."

GENERATIONS' Actress dies!

Actress Aletta Majola, who played Khethiwe’s grandmother in Generations, has died.
She died in Christ Hani Baragwanath hospital in Soweto at 10am on Thursday.  She was 77-year-old when she passed on.
“On Tuesday ugogo got very sick and she went for her usual check-up on in Baragwanath. We got a shock of our lives as a family when we received a phone call on Thursday that she’s no more,” says emotionally Zandi as quoted by Drum Magazine.

Pop star Justin Bieber has been arrested!

Los Angeles - Justin Bieber has been arrested for Driving Under The Influence (DUI) and drag racing.

The Boyfriend hitmaker was arrested earlier on Thursday morning in Miami Beach, Florida after driving a rented Lamborghini, police sources told NBC 6 South Florida.

There are no further details about the arrest at this stage but the news comes after Justin was spotted in a number of places around town in recent days.

NAIMA MCLEAN IN AN ALL ENSEMBLE CAST THE MARKET THEATRE PRODUCTION, THE COLORED MUSEUM!



Multi-faceted performer, Naima McLean has been cast in an all star ensemble stage production by George C. Wolfe called The Colored Museum - opening at the Market Theatre in Johannesburg on the 21st January 2014.
 
Naima, who is well known not only as a prolific singer and poet, has also received critical acclaim for her recent starring role in the big budget Hollywood film production, Vehicle 19, alongside recently passed superstar Paul Walker.

Naima launches 2014 in theatre production, a space she hasn’t played in years and she is excited for the month-long run to be held at Johannesburg’s legendary Market Theatre later in the month.

Isidingo star Lesego Motsepe passed away in her home in Randburg!

A statement released on behalf of Motsepe's family said she was found dead by her brother Moemise Motsepe at about 11am on Monday morning - and took the news to Twitter. The paramedics confirmed her death a few hours later.
In 2011, Motsepe publicly announced her HIV status on World Aids Day in a bid to help fight the stigma around people living with the disease. She conducted several workshops and talks on the importance of living with hope when affected by Aids directly or otherwise. She also worked as an Aids ambassador for many years, educating children in different communities.

"Bunch of losers" crash out of CHAN

It was a sad day in Cape Town last night when Bafana Bafana were knocked out of the African Nation's Championship following a 3 - 1 defeat to Nigeria.

The hosts needed at least a draw to advance to the quarter finals, but careless defending and missed opportunities ensured the Super Eagles would sail through to the knock-out stages with relative ease.

Christantus Ejike opened the scoring in the 22nd minute for Nigeria, before Ifeanyi Ede scored the second from the penalty spot just 9 mins later. Nigeria sat comfortably at 2 - 0 going into half-time before adding a third through Ejike in the 64th minute.

It’s all systems go in preparations for AmaZulu FC’s second round Absa Premiership opening clash against Orlando Pirates that is to be played at Moses Mabhida Stadium on 23 January 2014, Thursday night.  
 
Tickets for this sure thriller of a match which kicks off at 19:30 are now available at Computicket for R40 (adults) and R20 (children).

SuperSport United sign Dino Ndlovu!



SuperSport United have acquired the services of Bafana Bafana international striker Dino Ndlovu on loan until the end of the season from Israeli side, Maccabi Haifa. SuperSport United FC has an option to convert the loan into a permanent move at the end of the season.

Ndlovu has an impressive goal scoring record, having scored 9 goals in 19 games for the Israeli club during last season, and the striker will add to Matsatsantsa’s strike-force as they head into the second half of the season.

United coach, Cavin Johnson knew Ndlovu from his time at Platinum Stars, and has been impressed with the striker’s ability in front of goal especially his prolific form last season in the Israeli league.

Auditions for a Selection of Plays!

Franklin Players, One of the longest-running community theatre companies in the greater Johannesburg area is looking for budding actors to audition for its One Act Play Festival.

This year, aspiring scriptwriters and directors came together and produced a wonderful selection of scripts. The best scripts were reviewed by Franklin Players’ Managing committee and 11 were chosen to be staged at The Roosevelt Park Recreation Centre at the end of March this year.

Motswako Rapper Khuli Chana is suing cops for R2,7 MILLION!

Rapper Khuli Chana is suing the South African Police Service R2,7 Million!

Chana was shot in Midrand - South Africa on Monday, 28 October 2013. He  is also suing for his medical expenses, future loss of earnings, damages, legal expenses and car repairs as a result of the shooting, which the cops have insisted was a case of mistaken identity.  

It is also indicated that the case would take both a criminal and civil course.


As part of the due process in the civil case, Khuli Chana’s lawyers submitted a letter on Friday, 10 January 2014 to the Minister of Police highlighting what transpired on the night in question, outlining costs incurred and income lost as a result of the shooting, and stating the intention to recoup this money via litigation.

Mzansi Magic’s Rockville returns for a new season on Sundays from 9th February 2014 with several new faces joining the cast, for yet more compelling homegrown drama.

Among the newcomers is Clint Black (Scandal!; Generations; Backstage) who takes the role of Trevor, as well as one of SA’s sexiest men and entertainment all-rounder, Masego “Maps” Maponyane who plays TK. Also joining the cast is accomplished actress, Tango Ncetezo (iNkaba; Wild At Heart; A Place Called Home) as Peggy, veteran actor, Owen Sejake (Yizo Yizo; Ke Nake; Soul City; Zone 14; Fallen) as Cassius and model/actress Stephanie Schildknecht as Janet.

Bafana snatch CHAN win!

Bafana Bafana pleased home fans when they defeated Mozambique by three goals to one and record an opening day win at the 2014 African Nations Championships at Cape Town Stadium on Saturday evening.

South Africa dominated the game but conceded a deflected goal in the 11th minute after Mozambique went on a rare attack and stunned the home fans.

50 Cent's SIRE JACKSON is a cute baby boy!

Blackcelebkids reported that Sire Jackson is instant in and out of season when it comes to pictures. The youngest son of rapper 50 Cent was recently captured in a photo shoot, looking fresh and clean in a cute hat and tan shirt. Sire placed his gaze on the camera’s lens as photographers took wonderful pictures of him. The toddler had was in model mode as he tilted his head to the side for a perfect shoot.
According to the website Sire has been hard at work promoting his father’s new line of headphones.

Da LES’ Fire voted best urban club hit for December 2013!

Popular club DJs, event promoters, and club owners, as well as urban music fans, were polled and came up with the best club hit for December 2013. Da LES’ Fire was voted best urban club hit for December 2013, with club DJs saying club goers voted it best hit song by the reaction and ladies singing along.

“Girl you got that fire” sings the song, a definite song for the ladies and they have taken control of the song.

Will Smith has paid tribute to James Avery!

BangShowbiz has reported that the star thanked the late actor – who died following complications from heart surgery on December 31, aged 68 – for mentoring him during his early career when he played the lead character in ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel Air’ and James was his loveable Uncle Phil. 

He wrote on Facebook: Some of my greatest lessons in Acting, Living and being a respectable human being came through James Avery. Every young man needs an Uncle Phil. Rest in Peace.

Oprah Winfrey Network has acquired television rights to Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom!

Idris Elba.
Idris Elba plays Mandela, who died at 95 on Dec. 5, while Naomie Harris portrays his wife, Winnie Mandela.
The network will premiere the film, directed by Justin Chadwick, in 2017.
“We couldn’t be more honored to showcase this powerful film to the OWN viewers,” said Erik Logan, president of OWN.

Itumeleng Khune is not driving the BMW he won at the SA Sports Awards!

IS MINISTER FIKILE MBALULA'S OFFICE FAILING?

The Sunday Sun reported on Sunday that Bafana Bafana and Kaizer Chiefs Captain, Itumeleng 'Itu' Khune, is finding himself in the middle of a storm over prize money!

Khune won the big prize two months ago at the South African Sports Awards in November last year, Khune has yet to receive the money and the BMW he won.

The soccer star walked away with the prestigious Sports Star of the year award at the SA Sports Awards in Sun City, in North West province. The paper reports that although he received the BMW'S keys on the live TV show, he's still waiting for the car.

While the rest of the nation was under the impression that Itu drove back in his brand new wheels, it seems it was all for a show.

Beyonce is too embarrassed to play her steamy new song ‘Partition’ for her mother.


BangShowBiz has reported that The 32-year-old singer has admitted she still hasn’t played the sexy track – which appears on her recently released hit album ‘BEYONCE’ - for her mum Tina Knowles because the lyrics are so salacious.
On ‘Partition’, Beyonce sings of a romantic tryst with her lover in the back of a chauffeur-driven car, with lyrics including: ”Driver, rollup the partition please, I don’t need you seeing ‘Yonce on her knees.”

The Big Debate Returns to e.tv with Siki Mgabadeli!

The Big Debate, the current-affairs talk show, returns to e.tv Sundays at 10AM, and will additionally air on eAfrica+ at 10AM as well as eKasi + (OpenviewHD) at 1PM starting from 5 January 2014.

The show, hosted by radio and television journalist Siki Mgabadeli, was first aired on e.tv in 2009 presented by Dan Moyane. In November 2013, it returned to eNCA (DStv 403). Four seasons later, the show is still breaking new ground in South African journalism by holding leaders to account and giving a voice to ordinary residents and communities.

Nothing is off limits: from Health to Education, Land Reform to Racism and more. For ten weeks the show grapples with the most controversial issues and tries to find solutions. From movers and shakers to the masses, everyone is given a chance to air their views.
