Dali wam’ (My Darling), Heritage Month is here and the streetqueen celebrates isiko lethu (Our Culture) with Music in the air by dishing up a Sunday special with more Atchar!
South Africa’s premier Afropop artist and qualified heart throb Ntando Bangani is our bhuti (Brother) for the occasion while much adored and cherished legend in her lifetime Letta Mbulu is our big sister. Yebo, culani nami (Sing with me) when Sis’ Letta shares the ups and downs of her vast musical career of more than forty years with us.

The Mama Said Sessions are a mixed masala brewed by Ntsiki Mazwai; they provide a soulful, funky and a safe environment where young artists can showcase their talent and leading artists share their knowledge.
Another ingredient of the Streetqueen’s special brew is the open mic session where all can strut their stuff backed by the live house band while the DJ on duty liven things up.
We are calling for fresh, homegrown talent, musicians, poets, writers, visual artists, film makers, dancers, actors, comedians and anyone who would like to be inspired on a Sunday afternoon by what Mama Said Sessions to join us.
Mama Said has hosted the likes of Dorothy Masuka, Thandiswa Mazwai, Kabomo, Lilian Dube, Ringo Madlingozi, Nomsa Manaka, JahSeed, Sibongile Khumalo, Pops Mohammed and Wanda Baloyi in the previous editions. If you have missed them, make sure to diarise every last Sunday of the month and you’ll soon be a Mama-aficionado, guaranteed.
